Presenting GovTech Startups

The GovTech Series at the TUM Think Tank was a monthly program dedicated to learning from practice, bringing together innovators, policymakers, researchers, and students to explore how technology can transform the public sector.

Each session featured a promising startup from the GovTech ecosystem, offering firsthand insights into their solutions and fostering an exchange that bridges theory and real-world application. To date, the series has welcomed Benjamin Degenhart with Förderfunke, Flora Geske with SUMM AI, and Anna Spitznagel with Trail and Sascha Soyk with GovRadar. These founders shared not only their products but also their personal journeys, challenges, and lessons learned, enabling participants to understand how ideas move from concept to impact. The format emphasizes authentic dialogue, allowing attendees to gain practical knowledge directly from those building innovative solutions for public-sector challenges. More than a showcase, the GovTech Series reflects the TUM Think Tank’s role as a “research-to-action” platform, encouraging experimentation, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and inspiring action at the intersection of technology and public policy. By elevating pioneering startups, connecting diverse stakeholders, and grounding discussions in lived experience, it contributed to shaping a digitally resilient and citizen-focused public sector in Germany and beyond.
