Vellah Kedogo Kigwiru

Friedrich Schiedel Fellow

 Vellah Kedogo Kigwiru is a Research Fellow at the Chair for International Relations (Prof. Dr. Tim Büthe), Munich School of Politics and Public Policy (HfP) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in association with the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology and the TUM School of Management, as well as a Friedrich Schiedel Fellow for Technology in Society at the TUM Think Tank at HfP. She is also an Associate Research Fellow at the Digital Futures at Work Research Centre, University of Sussex. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.  Vellah’s research interests focus on the regulatory frameworks of the Global North and Global South from a comparative perspective, aiming to inform policy adoption and change. Her projects focus on competition policy, regional integration, artificial intelligence, data protection, and platform governance in Africa and the European Union. Her Friedrich Schiedel project examines the influence of the EU Digital Markets Act on Africa’s digital market competition regulations.
