The Urban Digitainability Lab at the TUM Think Tank has examined 34 use cases of Urban Digital Twins in Germany and summarized key findings in a new research brief.

- What potential do they offer for sustainable urban development?
- What challenges exist in terms of implementation and governance?
Initial results show:UDTs can make important contributions to optimizing urban systems (mobility, housing, energy) and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, there are significant challenges, such as a lack of standardization, insufficient data quality, ethical risks, or social exclusion.
