Felix Busch

Felix Busch is a clinician scientist and radiology resident at the Technical University of Munich. He is jointly based at the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and the Chair for Medical Informatics, Institute for AI and Informatics in Medicine (AIIM), both at the TUM School of Medicine and Health.

His research focuses on natural language processing, large language models, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), with a focus on how such systems can be made trustworthy, equitable, and patient-centered in real clinical environments. Within the Friedrich Schiedel Fellowship, he examines how RAG-powered chatbots influence patient comprehension, autonomy, and trust in diagnostic and interventional radiology.

He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, with his work being recognized by the 2025 Gustav Bucky Prize, the European Society of Radiology's Invest in the Youth Award, and the Danubius Young Scientist Award. He is a member of the editorial board of BMC Medicine and the trainee editorial board for Radiology: Artificial Intelligence.

Before joining the TUM School of Medicine and Health, Felix was a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge and completed his medical degree at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in 2024.
